5 AXIS CNC Machinist/Programmer

We are in search of a proficient and seasoned 5-axis mill Operator capable of programming, setting up, and executing jobs. This position is for a premier client located in the South Suburbs. The role entails operating and programming 5-axis CNC mills as well as 3-axis machines, in addition to aiding in the setup and operation of the 5-axis CNC mill.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience operating and programming 5-axis CNC mills and 3-axis machines
• Proficient in programming from solid models and editing programs
• Strong understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret drawings
• Familiarity with measuring tools and techniques
• Ability to work with exotic aerospace materials
• Experience with running multiple machines at the same time
• Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate and program 5-axis CNC mills and 3-axis machines
• Fully program from solid models and edit programs
• Ability to interpret GD&T on drawings
• Measure own work using standard tools such as micrometers and bore gauges
• Determine proper speeds and feeds for exotic aerospace materials such as Inconels, Monels, and Titanium
• Assist team members with programming
• Run multiple machines simultaneously
• Maintain a high level of attention to detail to ensure quality of finished products
