The Joint, Office of the Secretary of Defense, Interagency Division provides expert support services to a range of customers spanning across the Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, and international markets. JOID provides a diverse portfolio of analytical and programmatic capabilities to help our customers make informed decisions on their most challenging issues.
The Acquisition and Technology Analysis Group within JOID specializes in the application of multi-disciplinary analytic skills to support multiple clients within the Department of Defense (DoD). These clients include the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)), Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment (OUSD(A&S)), DARPA, the Joint Staff, and USINDOPACOM. SPA provides critical decision support to enabling and executing a strategy of technological superiority and enabling the delivery and sustainment of secure, resilient, and preeminent capabilities to the warfighter quickly and cost effectively. Our team of experienced military, technical, and operations research analysts is skilled in evaluating military problems, identifying the driving factors, devising innovative approaches, collecting applicable data, developing necessary software tools, and performing thorough and timely assessments to inform technology and acquisition governance decisions to ensure U.S. military forces retain military superiority in the future.
We have a near-term need for a Senior/Master Military Operations Planner to provide onsite support out of Tampa, Florida.
Responsibilities:The successful candidate will be a military operations planner with significant experience and expertise supporting Geographic Combatant Commands. Will be dedicated to supporting U.S. Central Command Plans Directorate onsite at MacDill AFB. Within the Plans directorate the planner will coordinate Joint and Operational Planning Teams along with bi-lateral or multi-lateral meetings. The planner will also be responsible for providing analyses, recommendations, and draft products for review and presentation to USCENTCOM, DoD, Allies, Coalition members, and partner nation leaders. Additionally, the planner will assist with evaluations and recommendations to Divisions and Branches as they direct, coordinate, and conduct Combatant Command planning processes. Will apply subject matter expertise on Plan and Order development with the ability to participate and assist with Mission Analysis, Course of Action (COA) Development, COA Analysis, and COA Comparison and Decision. The planner will be a leader, able to coordinate across the team to ensure the ability of the contract team to support all planning activities and conference requirements.
Qualifications:Required:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 8+ years of military experience
- Graduate of the Joint Advanced Warfighting School (JAWS), School of Advanced Military Studies (SAMS), School of Advanced Air and Space Studies (SAASS), School of Advanced Warfighting (SAW), Maritime Advanced Warfighting School (MAWS), or Senior Service College equivalent program
- More than 5 years planning experience, with 3+ years at a Geographic Combatant Command
- Experience in coordinating and supporting Joint and Operational Planning Teams
- Active DoD TS/SCI clearance

- 10+ years of planning experience, with 5+ years at a Geographic Combatant Command
- Experience with Allies and Partners within the USCENTCOM Area of Responsibility
- Able to travel internationally
