Position Summary:
As a Substitute Teacher, you'll play a vital role in our educational community. You'll virtually manage instructional programs using telephone, internet, and various curriculum tools. Collaborating closely with learning coaches and students, you'll ensure each child successfully completes their instructional program. Your responsibilities will include:
Completing grading, generating progress reports, and conducting parent conferences promptly.
Supporting the instructional program through asynchronous web conferencing sessions and synchronous instruction.
Reviewing curriculum and devising alternative approaches to enhance student understanding.
Maintaining regular communication with caretakers, students, and fellow teachers to develop and update Personal Learning Plans and schedules.
Collaborating with colleagues to ensure students progress successfully, tasks are distributed efficiently, and caretakers have a central point of contact.
Developing a comprehensive knowledge of the K-12 curriculum and a detailed understanding of assigned courses.
Providing additional assistance to students and caretakers with daily assignments and projects.
Keeping student records and data up-to-date, including attendance, student and family information, and communication logs.
Consulting with colleagues to develop enrichment activities and program modifications.
Coordinating social activities, field trips, and virtual methods to foster a vibrant school community.
Participating in state testing, student recruiting sessions, and other marketing efforts.
Collaborating with Advisory Teachers and School Counselors to ensure effective communication and student progress.
Attending field trips and community activities organized for families.
Performing other duties as assigned.
Education/Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant subject.
Appropriate certification to teach in Pennsylvania.
Possession of all required clearances for school-based personnel by the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
Experience Requirements:
Prior cyber teaching experience preferred, but not required.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with all stakeholders.
Proficiency in web-based applications and data management systems.
Competence in MS Office and Google Environment applications.
Essential Functions/Duties/Responsibilities:
Residency in the state of Pennsylvania.
Successful completion of background checks required for all school employees.
Willingness to engage in limited travel, potentially including overnight stays.
