REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrate cooperative and positive relations with students, community, colleagues and supervisor through daily interactions in-person, by phone, by email, etc.;
Work well under pressure by managing multiple tasks and projects;
Be reliable, trustworthy and require minimal supervision;
Support school rules and District policies and procedures;
Meet multiple and conflicting deadlines;
Experience in use of computer technology;
Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, electronic file management, etc.
Possess a positive attitude about change and an eagerness to implement changes that will enhance student access to athletics.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS:
Middle School or High School Athletic Director experience
Administrative and/or coaching experience
Knowledge of WIAA rules and regulations
Experience working in a school setting
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintain day-to-day operations of athletics in grades 6-8.
Work with the District Athletic Director and Athletics Department to manage and organize the following: Transportation, facility use, scheduling, officials, budgeting, equipment and uniform purchases, inventory tracking, website management, athlete registration.
Develop processes and protocols to ensure all athletic events are managed in an efficient and effective manner.
Develop a communication plan in order to disseminate information relating to athletics.
Coordinate the collection of athletic rosters for program information as needed.
Schedule and hold leadership meetings with coaches.
Act as a resource person and coordinator for all coaches.
Assist and organize supervision at home athletic contests.
Conduct pre-season and post-season coaches’ meetings.
Assist in the selection of coaches for the athletic program.
Mediate the resolution of problems, issues, and concerns that may arise between coaches, parents, student athletes, staff, etc..
Provide a channel through which students and parents may express their concerns about an athletic program.
Disseminate WIAA materials and enforce WIAA rules and regulations.
Inform coaches of the eligibility status of their athletes.
Work with Health Services in providing coaches with medical concerns of any of their athletes.
Monitor the academic policies and eligibility for John Sager Middle School athletes.
Administer the school athletic code in a fair and consistent manner that is within the intent of the code.
Ensure district adherence to all WIAA and district policies (particularly 2151 and 2151P), administrative rules, procedures, and codes relating to and participation in athletics/activities.
Attend athletic conference and league meetings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
