Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Mid-Level Tax & Accounting Associate with at least 3 years of professional experience in tax preparation, financial reporting, and compliance. The ideal candidate will play a key role in managing client accounts, ensuring regulatory compliance, and providing insightful financial advice. Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, businesses, and organizations.
- Conduct tax planning and research to identify opportunities for clients to minimize tax liability.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Assist in the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Communicate effectively with clients to gather financial data, discuss strategies, and address questions.
- Collaborate with team members to support audits, resolve discrepancies, and implement process improvements.
- Stay current on changes in tax laws and accounting standards to ensure best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or EA certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in tax preparation, public accounting, or a similar role.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and tax preparation software (e.g., ProSeries, Drake, or similar).
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for client and team interactions.
