- Experience implementing solutions using Microsoft 365 software (SharePoint, data security and compliance, Purview)
The scope of the project involves implementing an enterprise content management system (ECMS) to manage and control the company's data more effectively. This project is expected to span four to five years, if not longer.
The main goals are to:
Organize and Manage Data: The company has data scattered across various apps, SharePoint sites, and shared drives. The ECMS will help attach metadata to documents and records, allowing for better management and compliance.
Set Retention Schedules: By identifying the type of data, the system will enable setting retention schedules (e.g., keeping invoices for four years before deletion).
Enhance Data Searchability: The system will improve the ability to search for specific data, such as all information related to a particular person.
Meet Regulatory Requirements: Regulators are increasingly requiring better data management capabilities, which the ECMS will provide. The project is currently in its early stages, having started in July. The team has completed the analysis and design phase and is now working on a pilot targeting nuclear data. Once the framework is in place, it will be rolled out to different areas of the enterprise. The role involves working under a senior project manager who will provide mentorship. The person will handle various workstreams within the ECMS project, which is more of a program with multiple components. Preferred qualifications include experience with Microsoft 365 software, SharePoint, data security, and compliance, although these are not mandatory. This is a great opportunity for a mid-level project manager who is a self-starter and eager to learn from experienced mentors.
A typical day in this role, especially during the first month, would involve:
Morning Check-ins: Start the day with a check-in meeting with the Senior Project Manager to discuss daily goals and any updates on the project.
Learning and Understanding: Spend time understanding the overall program and the various workstreams. This includes familiarizing yourself with the enterprise content management system (ECMS) and how it integrates with Microsoft solutions like Azure and Microsoft 365.
Collaboration: Work closely with other resources involved in the workstreams, including IT and business subject matter experts (SMEs), as well as the audit and compliance team. This collaboration is crucial for understanding the specific needs and requirements of each workstream. Hands-on Tasks: Engage in hands-on tasks such as attaching metadata to documents, setting retention schedules, and ensuring data compliance. This practical experience will help you understand the system's functionality and its impact on data management.
Mentorship Sessions: Participate in mentorship sessions with Leo, where you can ask questions, seek guidance, and receive feedback on your progress. This is a great opportunity to hone your project management skills and learn from an experienced professional.
Status Reporting: Contribute to financials and weekly status reports, providing updates on the progress of the workstreams you are involved in. This helps keep the project on track and ensures transparency with stakeholders.
Skill Development: Take advantage of any training or learning opportunities related to Microsoft 365, SharePoint, data security, and compliance. Building these skills will be beneficial for your role and future career growth.
Overall, the role offers a balanced mix of learning, hands-on experience, and collaboration, making it an excellent opportunity for a mid-level project manager looking to develop their skills and gain valuable mentorship. Will primarily be working with Waterfall methodology, however, some familiarity with Agile/sprints, etc. would also be beneficial.
Compensation: Hourly W2 pay rate $60-$65
