With our primary office located two hours south of Portland, Oregon, we have a growing staff of remote employees, some even located in other countries! We serve immigrants around the world and across the nation.
We are looking for an experienced immigration attorney to review petitions and represent clients before USCIS, EOIR, BIA, and the Ninth Circuit. The right candidate will have a minimum of two years of experience handling all types of family and humanitarian petitions, and removal defense. They will have the ability to review forms online to find the smallest error. They will be able to communicate directly with clients in Spanish orally and in writing.
Living in or close to the Portland metropolitan area is important because this position ideally would require regular in-person representation of clients at USCIS and EOIR in downtown Portland, Oregon. However, we are also looking for attorneys who could be located anywhere in the world. Bar licensure in Oregon is preferred but not required.
We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running. Skills and experience are required and valued, but attitude, character, personality, and integrity are also important. The ideal candidate will have a growth mindset, an ability to relate to people in crisis, and a good sense of humor.
This is a full-time, salaried position with minimum annual billable hours set at 1200 (25 hours a week average). After 90 days the position is eligible for health insurance, matching 401k, four weeks of paid time off plus ten paid holidays annually. We support a healthy work-life balance and believe that the duties of this position can be completed in a 32 hour work week - however we pay full time wages!

Qualifications
- JD degree from an accredited law school and active membership in any state bar association
- 2+ years of experience in immigration law practice
- Demonstrated expertise in complex immigration law matters such as asylum, naturalization, family based petitions, U Visas and VAWA, waivers, and Special Immigrant Juvenile cases
- Experience representing clients before government agencies and in immigration court
- Exceptional research, writing, and analytical skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
- Fluency in Spanish, written and spoken, is preferred
- Prior experience managing and supervising legal support staff is a plus
