About the Job
- Develop critical features for RF based electro-mechanical systems including Linux device drivers, hardware support libraries, Yocto recipes, microcontroller software, and application software in C, C++, and Python languages
- Participate in technical design discussions
- Create design documentation for collaboration, as necessary
- Engineer and design software that is concise, testable, and maintainable
- Define functional requirements of the product that best serves our customers' needs
- Testing, integrating, and verifying embedded software on the hardware
- Influence development culture and improve development processes
Requirements:
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or equivalent work experience
- At least 2-5+ years of experience in embedded software or firmware engineering
- Embedded software development lifecycle experience (specification, implementation, integration, test)
- Expert level C, C++ with experience running Linux on an embedded platform
- Knowledge in computer architecture, compiler, and operating system concepts for embedded systems
- Ability to use oscilloscope and logic analyzer for software and hardware troubleshooting would be ideal
- Real-time operating systems (RTOS) such as FreeRTOS, VxWorks, PSos or other RTOS will work
- BSP packages for new board designs (Board Bring up)
- Familiarity with Xilinx Zynq SoC or other FPGA-based SoC Knowledge is a plus
- STM32/ARM microcontrollers
- Python for application development or data analysis
- Designing Linux character device drivers
- Building embedded Linux systems using Yocto or similar
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
