Job Description: Our client, a large defense contractor, has an immediate opening for a Mid-Level Electrical Engineer to work from their Canonsburg, PA facility. As an electrical engineer, you'll be a member of or lead a cross functional team supporting the for the Torpedo program.
Qualifications: Requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required within a reasonable period of time. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.

- Proficient using electrical engineering computer-aided design (CAD) tools and mixed Signal circuit analysis/design.
- Habitually ahead of technology trends, with background in test, troubleshooting, and reading circuit card schematics.

- Develop test criteria and assist in the design of test systems including test software applications.
- Perform component and architecture trade studies to determine optimal system solutions.
- Design, analyze, and test underwater acoustic systems.
- Design and build prototype cable assemblies.
- Perform solder rework of prototype circuit card assemblies.
- Develop technical presentations, recommendations, and written communications to explain technical issues to program management and the Navy customer.
- Generate design and interface documentation Experience with the engineering development life cycle, including concept, requirements, design, implementation and test phases
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Working knowledge of common communication interfaces such as Ethernet, RS-485, USB, CAN bus, LVDS, and protocols such as TCP and UDP
- Experience in analog and digital circuit design including signal integrity principles.
- Proficiency in all phases of PCB design, including: creation of high-level functional and architectural diagrams, SPICE analysis, power analysis, component selection, schematic entry (OrCAD Capture experience a plus), and working with the PCB layout team to optimize placement, signal integrity, fitment, etc.
- Strong documentation and communication skills.
- Experience with MATLAB programming a plus.
