About the Job
Our client is seeking a Mid-level Database Administrator and Data Analyst to join their team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and supporting multiple database environments while ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform database administration and performance tuning for Oracle ODAs.
- Administer SQL Server databases within a VM environment.
- Handle installation, maintenance, and patching of Linux and Windows OS, Oracle, MS SQL Server, MySQL, and DB2.
- Maintain RAC and failover systems to ensure high availability.
- Provide database support for multiple COTS applications across production, test, and development environments.
- Develop, document, and test database Disaster Recovery (DR) plans.
- Work with database encryption, partitioning, and performance tuning tools.
- Collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders, providing clear written and oral communication with strong problem-solving skills.
- Use ETL tools to develop and maintain dashboards for data analysis and reporting.
- Take on new challenges and continuously learn additional application responsibilities.
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of database administration experience in an Oracle environment.
- At least 2 years of experience administering SQL Server databases.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent certification in Oracle or SQL Server database administration.
- Experience in installing, upgrading, and patching database servers and application tools, including Oracle, SQL Server, and Linux OS.
- Proficiency in allocating system storage and planning storage requirements for database systems.
- Experience with user enrollment and maintaining system security.
- Familiarity with ensuring compliance with database vendor license agreements.
- Control and monitor user access to databases, maintaining security protocols.
- Expertise in monitoring and optimizing database performance.
- Knowledge of backup and recovery strategies for databases.
- Experience with maintaining archived data and backing up/restoring databases.
- Ability to manage and monitor data replication processes.
- Self-starter who can work independently while being a team player.
Desired Skills
- Experience generating various reports by querying databases as per business needs.
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and T-SQL.
- General understanding of storage technologies and networking.
- Familiarity with routine maintenance, recovery, and failover processes including Data Guard, AG, RAC, and FCI.
- Experience in developing and testing Disaster Recovery Plans.
- Ability to design and develop dashboards for the leadership team.

Pay Range: $53.00 - $55.00 per hour (Depending on experience and qualifications)
