SUMMARY:
The Massachusetts Impaired Driver (MID) Instructor plays a pivotal role in facilitating psycho-educational groups for adults convicted of a first offense DUI. This position involves helping individuals understand alcohol abuse issues and the implications of drinking and driving.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct interviews and lead group psycho-educational sessions.
Facilitate engaging group discussions on substance abuse education and address bio-psychosocial needs.
Maintain communication with District Court Probation Department to report progress and address concerns.
Collaborate with team members in case reviews to ensure cohesive service delivery.
Complete aftercare plans, discharge summaries, and necessary documentation.
Participate in staff supervision and training programs to enhance professional development.
Document participant progress within the MID program, adhering to ethical standards.
Perform additional duties as assigned in support of program goals.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, Experience, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in a counseling-related discipline; substantial experience in substance abuse may substitute academic qualifications.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years working in substance abuse settings.
Skills: Familiarity with self-help recovery programs; CPR certification preferred.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: Must be CPR certifiable.
