MAXIMUS is seeking an experienced Microsoft 365 Manager - Systems Engineer to server as an integral part of a team that supports the implementation, testing, and maintenance of all enterprise-level Microsoft 365 services. This role requires a combination of technical knowledge, managerial skills, and strategic thinking to effectively oversee Microsoft 365 administration within the organization.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the team by effectively communicating job expectations and goals and driving accountability; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, developing personal growth opportunities.
- Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability.
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs.
- Provide 3rd level support for operations to resolve critical issues quickly. This may include occasional off-hours and weekend work and periodic on-call support.
- Liaise with corporate IT teams and project stakeholders to communicate and coordinate.
- Be a main point of contact for communication ensuring that all stakeholders are aware of IT project status and issues, coordinate activities requiring project resources, communicate project requirements and constraints to the IT implementation teams.
- Responsible for creating and implementing integrated communications.
- Define KPI and metrics for business processes and methods for measuring and monitoring.
- Collate feedback on process performance.
- Measure and monitor the effectiveness of processes to ensure consistent value delivery.
- Work with operations and IT teams to perform incident root cause analysis.
- Assist in developing and documenting actions to assure problem resolution or to implement corrective/preventive action and document resolution.
- Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes.
- Translate business requirements into system specifications and functional designs by producing documents on how to implement changes to the system.
- Oversee the execution of testing strategies applicable to the systems of interest.
- Oversee and recommend systems enhancements to the business issues and process challenges for the organization.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by management.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
-Provide day to day management and guidance of team responsible for Microsoft 365 enterprise environments, as well as other products supported by team.
-Hold regular one on one and team meetings.
-Support career development for direct reports.
-Coordinate required systems maintenance and monitoring.
-Implement corporate security practices/policies for all systems supported by team.
-Attend meetings and provide status reports for ongoing projects.
-Guide direction of team for multiple ongoing projects.
-Identify appropriate goals for team members to complete projects and develop team potential.
-Oversee the infrastructure of all Microsoft 365 services across multiple tenants.
-Maintain strong relationships with business stakeholders, peer groups and IT management.
-Work on complex integration projects involving hybrid M365 configuration.
-Partner with Information Security to implement new and update existing processes, outlining best standard security practices for M365 services.
-Familiarity with CMMC and NIST requirements is a plus.
-Familiarity with M365 Commercial, GCG, and GCC High tenants licensing model is a plus.
-Build partnership with IT front-line support teams and support teams to effectively communicate changes in processes or provide education and guidance.
-Assure compliance to all Change Management rules regarding changes.
-Guide technical direction of teams.

Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree and 5-7 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Manages, perhaps through subordinate supervisors, the coordination of the activities of a section or department with responsibility for results, including costs, methods and staffing.
- In some instances this manager may be responsible for a functional area and not have any subordinate employees.
- Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends.
- Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
- Acts as advisor to subordinate(s) to meet schedules and/or resolve problems.
- Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities.
- Frequently interacts with subordinate employees, customers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or customers and the company.
- Often must lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team.
- Receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals.
- Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies.
- Recommends changes to policies and establishes procedures that affect immediate organization(s).
Education/Requirements:
-Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience.
-At least 5-7 years of experience in leading complex/critical technology projects required.
-At least three (3) years of IT people management experience required.
-Strong interpersonal skills - must have diplomatic skills and be adept at finding win-win solutions and compromises when possible.
-Ability to obtain 6C security clearance.
-Superior communication skills.
-Act as a liaison between IT and business units for Microsoft 365-related initiatives.
-Must be committed to supporting growth and career development for direct reports.
-Hands-on experience in supporting various Microsoft 365 tenants in a large enterprise preferred.
-Experience with Microsoft 365 hybrid deployments and migrations preferred.
-Familiarity with CMMC and NIST requirements is a plus.
-Familiarity with Microsoft 365 Commercial, GCC, and GCC High tenants licensing model is a plus.
-Ability to sit for up to 80% of time.
-Ability to lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs.
-Frequent use of computer, telephone, and office equipment (copier, fax, scanner).

Pay Transparency
Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
