Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Microencapsulation Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation, execution, and optimization of microencapsulation processes. This role involves operating specialized equipment to encapsulate active ingredients, ensuring consistent quality, and contributing to the development of innovative products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain microencapsulation equipment, ensuring processes adhere to defined specifications and safety standards.
- Prepare formulations for encapsulation, including blending active ingredients, carriers, and other materials.
- Monitor encapsulation processes, making real-time adjustments to optimize efficiency, yield, and product quality.
- Conduct quality control tests, analyzing particle size, encapsulation efficiency, and product stability.
- Record and maintain detailed logs of production runs, including data on process parameters and materials used.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to scale up microencapsulation formulations from lab-scale to production-scale.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of microencapsulation equipment.
- Assist in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance encapsulation processes, equipment utilization, and product development.
- Follow all safety protocols, including the handling of hazardous materials and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in microencapsulation technologies.
Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree or higher in chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science, or a related field.
- Experience working in microencapsulation, pharmaceutical, food, or similar industries preferred.
- Familiarity with encapsulation techniques such as spray drying, coacervation, or fluid bed coating is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform precise measurements and adjustments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Proficiency in the use of lab equipment and instruments for testing and analysis.
- Knowledge of GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and other regulatory requirements is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate documentation.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time position, Monday-Friday, with occasional overtime as needed.
- Work may involve exposure to chemicals and controlled environments.
- Standing for extended periods and operating heavy machinery may be required.
