Overview:The Manager, IT Enterprise Operations, will be part of an industry leading IT team working in a fast-paced environment at PDS. The Manager, IT Enterprise Operations, is a critical member of the Run/Maintain operations for Infrastructure Engineering. He/she is the point of escalation and is responsible for the timely resolution of issues affecting overall health of the operating systems and deployed applications in a distributed enterprise environment. In addition, he/she will be responsible for people management of direct reports.

- Lead and manage a team of system and network engineers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Plan, execute, and oversee infrastructure projects and tasks from conception to completion.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
- Develop and implement processes.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to design scalable and reliable systems.
- Provide technical leadership and expertise in areas such as networking, system engineering, datacenter, and cloud technologies.
- Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies to make informed recommendations.
- Identify potential risks to the infrastructure and develop strategies to proactively mitigate them.
- Implement and enforce security best practices and measures to safeguard the organization's data and systems.
- Develop and manage budgets for infrastructure projects and ongoing maintenance.
- Optimize resource allocation to ensure efficient and cost-effective operations.
- Work closely with other departments, such as development, operations, and security teams, to ensure seamless integration of infrastructure components.
- Implement tools and processes for monitoring infrastructure performance.
- Identify areas for improvement and optimization to enhance overall system efficiency.
- Work with team members and other internal teams to resolve IT infrastructure issues.
- Perform technical review and approval of change management and documentation.
- Ensure that processes, procedures, and troubleshooting guides are documented continuously.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree in MIS or Computer Science or equivalent education and applicable work experience.
- Proven experience in infrastructure management, including hands-on technical expertise.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Project management experience with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- In-depth knowledge of networking, server administration, storage, virtualization, and cloud technologies.
- Familiarity with security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
- Must be able to work after hours as needed.
DESIRABLE:
- Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Aruba, AWS, GCP, Microsoft).
- Experience with ITIL 4.0 practices
- Experience with SAN and NAS.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of electronic equipment, and computer hardware and software, including applications and programming.
- Ability to identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.
- Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, statistics, and their applications.
- Strong skills in communication, both written and verbal.
- Skilled in using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
- Skilled in determining how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes.
- Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriately.
- Ability to analyze and interpret performance reports and recommend course of action.
- Ability to monitor systems for anomalies that require investigation and resolution.
- Knowledge of different RAID types and proper applications of each type.
- Advanced knowledge of Active Directory and Windows domain environments.
- Advanced knowledge of backup and recovery systems using a variety of virtual and native backup applications.
- Must have excellent customer service skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of instant messaging technology.
- Basic knowledge of Linux commands, SSH, and SCP.
- Understanding of general networking principles pertaining to a large enterprise WAN environment.
- Understanding of hardware associated with hosted solutions including fabric switches and load balancers.
- Experience with SAN and NAS technologies (iSCSI, CIFS, NFS, etc.).
- Experience with VMware vSphere, vCenter, and vROPs.
- Experience with VM thin provisioning and thick provisioning best practices.
- Maintain an appropriate professional appearance and demeanor in accordance with Company policy.
- Ensure compliance with Company policies, as well as State, Federal and other regulatory bodies.
