Mgmt. Assistant, HIM - FirstHealth of the Carolinas

Performs staff and administrative work to support the HIM Administrative Director and HIM management team. Duties include general HIM office support, fielding management, patient portal and privacy line calls, payroll, data management, and project-based work. Additionally, assists with processing medical record subpoenas and related legal documents.

Qualifications: Associates degree in Medical Office Systems Technology or similar field or equivalent in work experience, education or training. General knowledge of HIM and related guidelines is required. One year administrative assistant or related experience. Preference to candidates with similar health information management experience or training. Formal education/training in a computer related or health information or health care management field may be considered in lieu of experience. Must type at least 50 wpm. Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint, etc... as needed to manage statistical spreadsheets, reports and graphs.
