POSITION OVERVIEW
MFA Office Assistant supports MFA Program Coordinators and other MFA team members in day-to-day operations of the MFA program, as well as during the MFA residencies (on-campus, virtual, or hybrid) in June and in December. Though the Office Assistant works remotely for most of the year, they are required to work on site at the Antioch University Los Angeles campus during the June and December 10-day residencies, as well as any other days that are requested by the program throughout the year
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Residency Support, 25%
For the MFA residencies in June and December, the Office Assistant performs the following duties:
- Assist Program Coordinators with residency preparation, specifically help with scheduling event and preparation for residency events (Zoom or on-campus), help with residency documentation (Handbook, Schedule, Workshop Booklets, Cohort Booklet, and other documents).
- Assist MFA Program Coordinators during events, either virtually or on campus, depending on the format of the residency. Assistance may include such tasks as technical and hosting support during hybrid--Zoom and on-campus--events, cleaning and setting up rooms on campus between events, assisting students, faculty, and guests during on-campus events.
Program Support, 35%
Provide administrative support between the residencies:
- Assist Program Coordinators in filing and auditing student paperwork and database entry.
- Assist Program Coordinators with scheduling events on Zoom and maintain the MFA Team and Student Calendars.
- Work on projects related to running the MFA in Creative Writing Program as needed by the MFA Team.
Technical Support, 35%
As instructed by Program Coordinators:
- Organize and maintain all online MFA Program platforms, including, but not limited to: MFA Program Google Site, MFA Program Faculty Site, student and faculty database, MFA Program inboxes, Google Drive student files, Canva, Zoom recordings, Google Groups, MFA Student Google Calendar, MailChimp, MFA Program Sakai site, Setmore, CVENT, and other platforms.
- Download Zoom videos and edit them with video editing software (training is provided).
- Create video tutorials for incoming students and faculty.
General Support, 5%
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- One year of administrative experience is strongly preferred.
- Strong verbal & written communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Ability to multitask and re-prioritize as additional tasks arise and focus on details, as well as work on projects independently.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google applications (Word, Excel, Access, Google Docs, Google Sheets, etc.), and a willingness to learn new software applications. Adobe Acrobat, Canva, basic video editing skills are a plus, but training is provided.

This position requires the knowledge, skills and ability to:
- Work as part of a team.
- Learn and utilize computer software.
HOURS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a part-time position, up to 25 hours per week. A work schedule will be established in consultation with the MFA Program Coordinators.
WORK LOCATION
Office to be housed at Antioch University Los Angeles campus if needed, or remote. During the 10-day residencies in June and December the Office Assistant will work on site at the Antioch University Los Angeles campus.
