Job Summary

Reporting to the Metal Group Leader, the Metal Worker is responsible for installing sheet metal siding on the modular units.  

Essential Functions

• Consult with construction plans and blue prints
• Install sheet metal siding
• Drill and punch holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets
• Fabricate or alter parts using shears, hammers, and drills
• Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces of assembled parts
• Complete all assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
• Clean and clear debris and hazardous materials
• Ensure construction equipment and tools are cleaned and stored properly
• Follow all health and safety regulations when operating equipment
• Ensure regulated ear plugs, gloves and safety glasses are worn

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience hanging metal siding
• Properly trained on the operation and safety aspect of electric drills, power tools, air compressor tools, nail gun etc.
• Ability to read blue prints
• Experience in a construction and/or commercial manufacturing environment
• Flexible – able to move to different departments when needed
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Must have basic tools to start work (tape measure, hammer, etc.)

 Physical Demands

• Ability to lift, move or handle parts weighing up to 30 pounds on a consistent basis
• Ability to lift, move or handle parts weighing up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis
• Ability to stand for up to 4 hours at a time
