Our Opportunity:
Chewy is seeking a Merchandising Operations Analyst on the Catalog Systems team in Plantation, Florida. Catalog Systems sits within the larger Merchandising Systems & Services team (MSS), which is responsible for creating the systems, services, and process infrastructure for all Chewy businesses. The team's mission is to be the backbone for Chewy's Business/Category teams, helping win long-term customer trust, business growth, and profitability. We own the Pricing, Catalog/Content, and Vendor Systems & Services that have automation, product, program, and operational components.
The ideal candidate will provide a good mix of information systems and merchandising business process knowledge including data analysis, functional knowledge of catalog and/or ERP systems, and technical knowledge of underlying system data structures and processes. The ideal candidate is innovative, diligent, driven and demonstrates a high degree of ownership in all they do. These skills will be applied to item-level data across the Chewy catalog, ensuring accuracy and completeness, ultimately influencing the customer experience. Does this sound like you? What You'll Do:
- New Item Setup: Add new items to Chewy systems inclusive of communicating with brand partners to secure best in class content, performing careful quality analysis, importing data and digital assets, auditing for webpage content and completeness, etc.
- Serve as a domain expert independently coordinating a specific body of work/process in 1-2 areas. Complete work in this area, identify and eliminate risks, issues or potential defects, drive process improvements by building scale and automation, develop standard operating procedures, educate and partner with cross-functional customers, provide frequent data analysis insights, etc.
- Synthesize large quantities of complex data into usable/actionable information.
- Support ad hoc projects and initiatives involving Catalog systems and processes.
- Collaborate with technical teams to drive systems improvements and elegant analytical tools.
What You'll Need:
- BA in Business Administration, Marketing, Retail Management, Finance or similar
- 2+ years of experience in a business systems or merchandising analytics capacity as a subject-matter expert
- Background in creating, managing to and improving metrics (KPI) using quantitative analysis
- Advanced experience with Microsoft suite products
- General experience using SQL queries and/or Tableau reports
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to think and react in a high-energy, fast-paced environment
- Good communication (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills to convey key insights from complex analysis in summarized business terms and an ability to effectively communicate with technical teams
- An entrepreneurial mentality and a driving passion to change, challenge, and improve processes
- Position may require occasional travel
Bonus:
- Relevant work experience using Python or R for data analytics
- Prior experience in Software Quality Processes and Atlassian Tools such as (Confluence, JIRA, etc.)
- Prior experience with ERP systems
- Proficient in SQL and/or Tableau
- E-commerce background is a plus
