INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW:
The general purpose of this position is to train in all aspects of a Merchandising position. Interns will work closely with the Retail Director to creatively display merchandise, manage inventory levels, and analyze sales data. There will be opportunity to create/recommend new products to implement in store. This position will be highly interactive with our customers in order to extend the exceptional experience at Ballparks of America through retail product.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Create an outstanding customer experience
- Organizing store items
- Help track merchandise inventory and reorder levels
- Research on latest industry trends
- Help execute consumer products business plan and monitor overall retail performance
- Work with the management team to interpret data including tracking merchandise sales and performance within the retail store and online
- Helping brainstorm new products and merchandise strategies
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- Current student or recently graduated in the last year studying Fashion, Merchandising or related degree
- Understanding of fashion trends
- Enjoys finding creative solutions to problems
- Available 40 hours per week, including nights and weekends
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Working environment is fast paced
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 40 lbs. infrequently
- May be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time and squat, stoop or bend into awkward positions while performing job functions
- Will be required to sit for extended periods of time operating a computer
- Workplace environment has intermittent noise, generally moderate in nature, but can be loud at times especially during competitions and events
