Nesco Data Center & Infrastructure is seeking a seasoned Meraki Switch Technician in the Greater Cleveland OH area.
Scope & Notes:
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Network Technician with expertise in Meraki switches to manage the reset, configuration, and migration of network hardware for our end customers. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with VLANs, Meraki switch operations, network access, and configuration. They must be adept at working with customer networks without causing downtime and have a strong background in firewall management and network security.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with end customers to plan and execute the wiping and resetting of Meraki switches.
- Perform factory resets on Meraki switches, ensuring all data is securely erased.
- Configure Meraki switches according to customer specifications, with a strong emphasis on VLAN setup and management.
- Access customer networks safely and effectively without disrupting operations.
- Ensure network security and stability during the reset and configuration process.
- Utilize portals and network management tools for monitoring and configuration.
- Handle network hardware migrations, ensuring seamless transitions with minimal downtime.
- Troubleshoot and resolve any network issues that arise during the switch reset and configuration process.
- Document procedures, configurations, and customer interactions for future reference.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience with Meraki switches, including reset and configuration.
- Strong understanding of VLANs and network segmentation.
- Proficient in accessing and configuring customer networks securely.
- Experience in firewall management and network security protocols.
- Background in network hardware migration and related challenges.
- Familiarity with network management portals and tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with customers and team members.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks within set deadlines.
Preferred Certifications:
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent.
- Meraki Certification or relevant experience.
