About the Job
A very reputable MEP Engineering firm is hiring for a MEP & HVAC Project Engineer Coordinator that will work hand in hand with the mechanical engineers and act as their support staff. You will ultimately be helping with design/drafting but will also have the chance to be exposed to and work collaboratively in a cross-discipline environment, dive into helping project teams in the production of engineering drawings and project documents. They are looking for individuals' who have a passion and strong commitment to design excellence. Their portfolio consists of some of the most prominent Healthcare/laboratory/research work, as well as some airport, education, retail, corporate Office and other large commercial project types.
PROJECT CO-ORDINATOR:
DESCRIPTION:
- Support Project Managers and Site Supervisors to develop and actively maintain the project schedule and ensure project targets are achieved.
- Maintain and update document control logs and follow through on project management procedures: change orders, as-built drawings, close out documents.
- Provide status updates of work in progress and support with project forecasting.
- Coordinate equipment and material deliveries and provide oversight of sub-trades.
- Maintain records of all materials used and the progress made on the job in line with company guidelines.
- Proactively identify and bring to management’s attention potential problems and/or schedule delays.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- You have related Mechanical Engineering post-secondary education.
- You have compelling interpersonal skills and effective written and verbal communications skills
- You have a minimum of two (2) years related experience, trade experience a definite asset.
- You are proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word,), AutoCAD, and MS Project
- You have experience analyzing and understanding mechanical construction drawings and experience working on commercial projects.
- You have a background in Contract Administration
- You have strong analytical, problem-solving skills and organizational skills.
