This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, providing technical expertise in the design, construction, and maintenance of building systems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) engineering, with a focus on acccessibility, sustainability and energy efficiency. This position will play a critical role in ensuring the functionality, safety, and longevity of our projects, contributing significantly to the success of our organization.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough property condition assessments to evaluate the state of existing building systems and identify necessary upgrades or repairs.
- Review building designs and plans, providing expert input on the integration of MEP systems.
- Perform comprehensive energy audits to identify opportunities for improving energy efficiency and reducing environmental impact.
- Carry out forensic evaluations to determine the cause of building system failures and develop effective solutions.
- Design and evaluate HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems, ensuring they meet all relevant codes and standards.
- Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other professionals to ensure the seamless integration of MEP systems into overall building design.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design plans, specifications, and reports.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and other team members.
- Stay current with the latest developments in the field, incorporating new technologies and techniques into your work as appropriate.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in MEP engineering, with a focus on building systems design and evaluation.
- Demonstrated expertise in conducting property condition assessments, energy audits, and forensic evaluations.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection system design and evaluation.
- Proficiency in using industry-standard software for design and analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively and develop innovative solutions.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Willingness to continue learning and developing professionally.
