GENERAL PURPOSE |
Assists Mental Health Program Director with behavior services program evaluation, behavior management interventions/training, psychotropic medication monitoring, restraint usage monitoring, and generally provide ongoing consultation with facility staff, outside consultants, and interacting with clients who require behavioral interventions. |
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES |
· Assists with trainingtheorientationclassesonbehavioralmanagementplans,restraintusage,andbehavioralinterventiontechniques · Coordinateon-goingtrainingthatincludebehaviorgoalimplementationwithclients,appropriaterestraintusage,andcollaboration withappropriatestafftoassistindevelopmentofspecializedplansfortheimprovementofclient’sbehavior · Review and monitor all written behavior managementplans · Monitor and track all client behavioroccurrences · Monitor and track all physical restraints used for behavioralinterventions · Assists with schedulingofallpsychiatricappointmentsandcoordinateallpsychiatricreportstoaccompanyclientstoappointments · Assist in the development and periodical review of behavioral policies and procedures with the Program Director and Administrator · Assist with purchases for departmentalsupplies · Assists with departmental budget and compile necessaryreports · Participateinadministrativeon-callrotationasassigned |

QUALIFICATIONS |
· Associates in Psychology or relatedfield · Ability to work flexible work schedules including nights andweekends · Must be capable of maintaining regularattendance |

· Knowledge and application of behavior management principles andpractices · Knowledge of psychotropic medication classes andprinciples · Good organizationalskills · Quality speaking and written communicationskills · Mustbeabletomaintainconfidentialityregardingpatientandcompanyproprietaryinformation. · Musthavetheabilitytorelateprofessionallyandpositivelyandworkcooperativelywithresidents,familiesandotheremployeesat alllevels. |
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS |
Mobility, reaching, bending, lifting (minimum of 10 pounds), fine hand coordination, ability to read and write, the ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and directions, ability to travel, and ability to remain calm under pressure. |
