St. Clair Country Club is a premier, private country club searching for a motivated, reliable, and seasoned individual for our Men's Grill Manager.
Due to the specific nature of the facilities and the requirements of the role, we are seeking a male manager who will be in frequent proximity to the Men's Locker Room which is adjacent to the Men's Grill. It is essential to provide a comfortable and appropriate environment for our male members and guests.
Our team of over 350 employees in high season are committed to providing expectations of excellence in the highest quality golfing, dining, social, entertainment and recreational experience to its 870 members and their families and guests. The Club operation is open year-round, offers four a la carte Restaurants ranging from casual to fine dining and multiple private dining and reception areas including the Ballroom, Crossroads Room, Alibi Room, Wine Library, Men's Grill, and Ladies Grill for events, meetings and social gatherings. During high season, the club operates an active aquatic center with Pool, Snack Bar, and Bar area which allows members to schedule private and holiday events.
This position offers a unique opportunity to manage and lead an important aspect of the Club's food and beverage operations. The ideal candidate will be passionate about hospitality, exceptional customer service, and creating attractive events in a welcoming environment for Club members to enjoy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership:
- Lead and supervise the Men's Grill team.
- Schedule, train, and evaluate staff performance to enhance customer service and operational efficiency.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that aligns with the club's culture/values.
- Ensure all team members are well-versed and adhere to club policies, service expectations.
- Practice the standards for service and attention to detail.
- Greet members and guests promptly and function as Lead Bartender.
- Deliver exceptional, personalized service.
- Establish strong relationships with members addressing member concerns, complaints, or special requests professionally and promptly.
- Oversee daily operations of the Men's Grill.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure food quality, timely delivery, and adherence to menu standards.
- Manage inventory, stock levels, and ordering of supplies.
- Maintain health and safety protocols for a clean, sanitary, and safe environment.
- Responsible for an appealing selection of beverages, including alcoholic drinks, draft beers, wine and non-alcoholic options.
- Responsible for accurate and prompt member billing through Jonas.
- Promote menu specials and create a memorable dining experience for club members.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to food safety, alcohol service, and health codes.
- Enforce proper handling, storage, and preparation of food and beverages.
- Coordinate private parties, themed club events, and weekly specials held in the Men's Grill.
- Ensure seamless execution of events, including proper set-up, service, and timely follow-up.
- Assist in planning, promoting, and executing promotional events to drive engagement and revenue growth for a multi-generational audience.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Hospitality Management, Business, or related field preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of management experience in an upscale restaurant/bar, private club, or similar food and beverage environment with bartending experience.
- Proven track record in managing a team and delivering superior customer service.
- Extensive knowledge of fine dining service, bartending, food and beverage operations, promotional events, and inventory control.
Skills:
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, time-management abilities and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficient in point-of-sale systems and inventory management software, Jonas preferred.
- Knowledge of fine dining service standards, wine, and cocktail pairings.
- A professional appearance with a polished and confident demeanor.
- Must have a proactive can-do attitude.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand and walk for work shift.
- Ability to bend and lift 20 pounds consistently and 50 pounds frequently.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
