Signicast is seeking Manufacturing Technicians to join our Melt / Rough Clean Department. This critical role ensures the seamless flow of molds and parts through the cell by converting materials into metal products and removing ceramic molds. You will work closely with supervisors, technicians, and engineers to maintain high-quality standards and maximize efficiency in the production process.
- Day shift- 6:00 am- 6:00 pm on a 12-hour 2-2-3 rotating schedule
- Night shift- 6:00 pm- 6:00 am on a 12-hour 2-2-3 rotating schedule
- The starting wage depends on experience + applicable shift premiums
- Dependable and reliable attendance is required for all positions
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

- Comply with all safety and health guidelines, quality standard practices/procedures, and housekeeping standards
- Respond to alarms on melt units, caustic units (where applicable), KOH units, furnaces, and revert dryer for safety and proper functioning
- Detect sounds from equipment for proper functioning (ex: listen for abnormal sounds of equipment such as blades on cutting saw, grinding sounds, whining sounds on melting pot)
- Analyze and evaluate jobs to ensure that they are prioritized and sequenced to maximize the efficiency of work
- Analyze and evaluate molds poured readout on the computer to verify that the correct number of molds poured are correctly listed
- Placing alloys (back scrap, additions, and prime) on the platform for additions in melt and replacing back into storage
- Melting alloys to form metal in pot
- Pouring metal into molds and setting down correctly according to standard practices
- Removing ceramic in rough clean with water blaster and/or caustic, cutting off from sprue with a cut-off saw or cold break unit, and desludging tanks to clean them
- Maintaining the quality of metal to specifications indicated on standard practices, checking components of metal pot by performing a slug test using the spectrometer, adding alloys to the pot to bring a sample to specifications, performing final burn, and saving into the computer
- Ensures the product is not moved to the next operation until the required inspection and tests are complete.
- Back up for other areas if the continuous flow manufacturing process is interrupted to remove any backlogs. This could include working in the Wax Cell, Melt Cell, or Finishing Cell.

Education and or/Experience
High school diploma or HSED/GED equivalent preferred. Must possess good computer skills and be able to learn new skills as needed.
Communication Skills
Must be able to effectively communicate with other employees to share information, solve problems, and instruct or train lesser-skilled employees. Must have the ability to read and interpret English documents such as part drawings, shop orders, work plans, and short correspondence. Must be able to write standard reports and documentation.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and/or hear, and/or use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, and/or walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. The mental and physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an individual to successfully perform the essential functions of this position.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Protective Clothing/Equipment Required
Safety glasses and safety shoes must be worn in all manufacturing areas. Additional PPE may be required as needed.
