About the Job
Under the supervision of the Chief Pharmacy Officer, the Medication Use and Safety Manager is responsible for system level coordination of drug policy, medication safety, antimicrobial stewardship, and Pharmacy & Therapeutics (P&T) Committee functions across all Marshall Health Network (MHN) entities. This position shall serve as the Secretary of the MHN P&T Committee. They will work closely with MHN Directors of Pharmacy, healthcare peers and providers, pharmacy procurement and operations staff, informatics staff, and other vested individuals to integrate and align medication use policy, safety, and formulary actions across the system. This position will lead measuring, trending, analyzing, and benchmarking medication costs and reimbursement, and will coordinate medication use and formulary stewardship projects for the system. They will be the subject matter expert in medication use, performance improvement, and medication safety, and will serve as a key resource for Risk Management, Quality, and Compliance.Education Requirements: B.S. Pharmacy or Pharm. D. from accredited school of pharmacy required. Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA), or similar preferred. ASHP accredited pharmacy residency preferred. Board Certification in a clinical specialty preferred. Experience: Four or more years in health system pharmacy required. Two or more years of hospital/system pharmacy management experience preferred. Two or more years of hospital pharmacy and therapeutics (P&T) coordination preferred. Experience working within a multi-hospital system preferred. Experience with data analytics, medication safety and/or pharmacy clinical program development preferred.
