Role Overview: Medicaid/Medicare Claims Processor
As a Medicaid/Medicare Claims Processor, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting Illinois DHS project. Your responsibilities will include:
Reviewing incoming claims to ensure accuracy and compliance with Medicare and Medicaid guidelines.
Accurately entering claim data into our systems and verifying patient eligibility.
Assigning appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes to claims.
Processing claims through automated systems and resolving any errors or discrepancies.
Collaborating with internal teams and stakeholders to address claim-related inquiries.
Assisting in handling claim appeals and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
Qualifications:
To thrive in this role, you'll ideally possess:
U.S. Citizenship.
An Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
At least 3 years of experience in healthcare claims processing, preferably with Medicare and Medicaid claims.
Knowledge and certification of ICD-10, CPT, and/or HCPCS coding.
Familiarity with claims adjudication software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently.
Integrity and commitment to maintaining patient privacy.
Adaptability to changing regulations and guidelines.
A problem-solving mindset and a passion for customer service.
