Medical Technologist
We are North Shore Medical Center. Our primary function is to offer continuous nursing, medical, and other health and social services on a 24-hour basis, under physician directed care and RN supervision.

Performs manual and automated routine blood tests. Prepares specimens for microscope examination. Operates laboratory equipment including centrifuges, dry bath incubators, and blood bank refrigerators. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Typically reports to supervisor or manager. Requires graduation from an accredited MLT program and passing a national exam given by the Board of Registry of the American Society for Clinical Pathology. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
Performs analysis of body fluids and exudates. Performs various chemical procedures on specimens using several laboratory equipment. Performs quality control procedures, linearities, instrument checks and maintenance of instruments. Records workload and other statistics. Calculates and tabulates results and makes reports of observations. Post tests findings.
- Generalist position with emphasis on Microbiology and rotations through blood bank, chemistry, coagulation, hematology, and urinalysis.
- Performs manual and automated routine blood tests.

- Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within medical laboratory field. 3 months experience preferred.
- Position is for 1st shift/days.
- Rotating holidays and weekends.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology or Bachelor of Science with a chemical, physical or biologic science as a major subject and
minimum one year training in a clinical laboratory or associate in arts in Medical Laboratory Science with a full semester of hospital training.
Minimum 1 year in hospital experience preferred in the field.
Required licensures/certifications Experience
Current Florida license as a Medical Technologist in all specialties
Skills and Abilities
Knowledge and understanding of the Laboratory workflow.
Good oral and written communication skills
