Position Summary:
Precisely and accurately performs and evaluates a variety of technical procedures in Blood Bank or Microbiology and at least one other Lab section/location based on State licensure and experience. Utilizes all principles of quality control in the performance of laboratory testings according to established DMC and Tenet Healthcare Corporation Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) and guidelines. Adheres to all Federal, State and Regulatory Agency standards (Joint Commission, AHCA, AABB). Performs and fulfills all HICS (Hospital Incident Command System) responsibilities as directed and needed by the facility in times of emergency/disaster.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Minimum: Associate's Degree in Science or other qualification recognized
by the State of Florida for Technologist level licensure.
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
EXPERIENCE:
Completion of an approved course of Clinical Training in Medical Technology.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:
- Medical Technologist - State of Florida or licensure at the supervisor level.
- Medical Technologist II requires licensure and experience in Blood Bank or
- Microbiology and at least one other Lab section.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Generalist licensure; ASCP Certification preferred
