Adelphi is seeking Medical Technologists to provide services at a facility in Danville, IL. The ideal candidates will perform a full range of automated and non-automated laboratory procedures in the areas of chemistry, urinalysis, hematology, serology, bacteriology, and immunohematology according to established protocols, among other responsibilities.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Graduate from a medical technology program accredited by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS)
• ASCP certification
• BLS
• Proof of accreditation by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS)
• Minimum one-year experience within the past 5 years
Responsibilities:
• Perform phlebotomy to obtain patient specimens for laboratory testing including blood cultures and compatibility samples.
• Evaluate the suitability of the specimen for analysis, requesting new specimen if determined to be unusable.
• Responsible for the generation of laboratory results from the work area into the laboratory computer system.
• Edit and verify results recorded into the computer system.
• Conduct quality control procedures on equipment, reagents, and products and maintain proper records for quality control reports.
• Calibrate, standardize, adjust and maintain instruments on which trained.
• Conduct additional tests to clarify abnormal results and identify those needing immediate physician attention, reporting them directly.
• Select, perform, evaluate, and monitor the performance of test procedures using manual and/or instrumental techniques in accordance with established protocols.
• Stock and maintain specialized supplies used in the work area.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
