Part time position - varied shifts

Responsibilities:

• Transcribe and type Pathology and Autopsy reports in addition to recording, disseminating, coding, and filing the reports. 
• Type statistical data and letters for the Laboratory Administrative Director, Medical Director, and Pathologists, as required.
• Maintains equipment and ensures that departmental supplies are stocked and well maintained.  Notifies area supervisor when insufficient.

• Employee is able to provide verbal and written educational material to patients when appropriate.
• Attends continuing education programs on-site and off-site.
• Demonstrates knowledge of service priorities, workflow patterns.
• Monitors workflow to assure prompt and efficient delivery of services.

    

  Requirements:

   

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • One year experience in typing/transcribing in hospital or related work environment desired
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
