Summary: The role of a medical scribe is pivotal within the patient care team. Collaborating closely with healthcare providers across various specialties, you'll document patient encounters in real-time, catering to individuals from diverse socio-economic backgrounds to enhance access to essential healthcare services. All scribes undergo comprehensive medical scribe training to ensure they're fully equipped to support their designated provider(s). Additionally, they receive ongoing mentorship and support to excel in their healthcare careers.
Essential Duties:
Prepare charts according to clinic protocol
Accompany the provider during scheduled patient visits
Document patient history, physical exams, procedures, and plans as directed by the provider
Prompt providers regarding relevant quality metrics, ensuring accurate documentation
Enter laboratory and radiographic studies, as prescribed by the provider
Input medication orders as dictated by the provider
Document and provide instructions to patients
Review completed charts with the provider between patients or at the end of shifts
Update provider and clinic preference documents as needed
Requirements:
Typing speed of at least 60+ WPM
Availability to work 30-40 hours per week (Monday - Friday, 7:30 am-6 pm PST)
HIPAA-compliant workspace to safeguard patient privacy
Fluency in English with exceptional writing and speaking skills
Education/Experience:
Bachelor's Degree or 1-2 years equivalent experience in a related field
Pre-health career track strongly preferred
GPA > 3.5 preferred
Proficiency in medical terminology and human anatomy
Compensation/Benefits:
Competitive compensation ranging from $11.00 - $17.00 per hour based on location, experience, and commitment.
Paid training for up to 30.5 hours.
Eligibility for 401K program after 12 months
