About the Job
Community Medical and Dental Care is seeking an experienced Medical Scribe to join our growing team. This is a full-time position in our fast paced adult and specialty department.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Transcribe patient appointments
- Manage an average of 4 patients per hour
- Facilitate diagnostic tests and referrals to medical specialists
- Assist the Physician with fundamental patient care
- Review lab results with provider
- Return calls to patient with results as directed by clinician
- Call in medications to pharmacy as ordered by clinician
- Ensure that all records contain the necessary completed and signed forms
- Responsible to check patient’s identifier (e.g. patient name, date of birth, social security number, and address) before performing vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, height, and weight.
- Ensure that the provider gives a copy of all necessary forms or paperwork (prescriptions. referrals, etc.) to the patient
- Ensure that all ordered tests and lab work has been included in the EMR
- Responsible to ensure that all letters ordered by the provider are sent to the patient or outside facility
- Ensure that the patient receives patient education material and a clinical summary
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 1 years of experience as a Medical Scribe
- Proficient in medical terminology
- EMR knowledge
- Strong computer and typing skills
