Medical Receptionist - Primary Care

MUST:
Experienced Medical Receptionist
Must have 6 plus months of experience as a receptionist or within a customer service role
Must be technology savvy
Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills
Must have experience handling high incoming call volume
Must have reliable transportation
Experience handling check in and check out
Experience scheduling appointments
Experience handling insurance verification
Experience be in a busy multi-doctor office
Experience working with EMR; knowledge of E-clinical Works is preferred
DUTIES:
Registers new patients with complete and accurate demographics according to procedure
Verifies patient's insurance eligibility and benefits at each visit
Updates patients' charts so that the information is entered correctly
Scans documents into the electronic medical record as directed
Completes work daily to compile missing demographic and insurance information for billing purposes
Obtain prior authorizations for care
Answer phones taking patient demographic information
Responsible for cleaning and sanitizing work area and waiting room as well
Other duties as assigned
