A day in the role…

• Answer telephones.
• Triage & direct phone calls to appropriate individual or area.
• Enter patient information into IDX system.
• Schedule appointments.
• Process patients at check in & check out.
• Prepare charts for office hours
• Assure appropriate referrals are in place for each Date of Service.
• Verify insurance information for assigned patients.
• Follow-up with referring physician &/or patient if referral is required
• Forward messages to physicians and staff in Allscripts
• Schedule surgeries for assigned doctor in a timely manner including obtaining all required authorizations
• Perform other duties as assigned, according to the individual departmental needs.
• Patient Volume: between 80-120 patients per day

Strong Computer Skills | Great Customer/Patient Service | Medical Terminology | Patient Registration | Medical Insurance Knowledge | Insurance Payer Knowledge | EMR Systems

Core Experience:

• 1+ years of Medial Receptionist Experience
• EMR - electronic medical records
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Strong customer service experience - high volume calls
