Optum Radiology has an immediate opening for a friendly, patient focused and detailed oriented Assc. Care Coordinator to join our team. 

Schedule: Monday through Friday 7:30 am to 5:00pm an 8-hour shift to be determined by the hiring manger.  May be asked to float to other practices as needed.

Location: 1783 Stillwell Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11223 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Greets patients as they arrive and manage appropriate standard wait times

• Complete check-in and check-out tasks to include insurance verification, complete pre-authorizations and/or precertification of procedures, and copy required documents

• Collects co-payments, co-insurance, and deductibles and issues receipts

• Processes walk-in patients and visitors

• Answers phones and schedules appointments

• Answer telephone calls, re-direct calls as appropriate, assist callers with questions or concerns, and take messages as needed

• Manages medical records (maintains, files/scans, prepares for schedule)

• Prioritizing incoming calls

• Ensures all correspondence is scanned and/or filed, processes requests for medical records release and maintains appropriate logs, etc.

• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with patients, employees, and the providers

• Schedules procedural appointments

• Performs all other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma/GED (or higher)

• 1+ year in customer service or receptionist experience within a health care setting

• Intermediate level of computer proficiency (including Microsoft Outlook, Teams)

• Ability to travel 10% of the time within 30 miles of territory assigned and have reliable transportation (including public transportation)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bilingual in English & Cantonese or Mandarin

• Experience as a receptionist in a healthcare setting

• Experience working with an electronic health records

• Knowledge and ability to learn and apply job functions, and minimal medical terminology knowledge

Soft Skills:

• Friendly and outgoing personality

• Excellent communication skills and phone etiquette

New York Residents Only: The salary range for New York residents is $16.00 to $27.31 per hour.
