POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will perform several important duties within MedNOW Clinics and its subsidiary Companies. The overall responsibility is to ensure the smooth running of MedNOW clinics from a financial perspective. The Controller will make sure there are strategies and controls in place to keep the business in good fiscal health and will be responsible for conducting internal control audits to ensure the business is in compliance with legal and ethical financial business practices.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform pre-audit of various accounting activities. Coordinate and oversee annual audits; prepare and review all work papers and schedules for preparation of CAFR, in accordance with General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and statements and pronouncements of Governmental Accounting Standard Board (GASB).
- Balance and reconcile various accounts and ledgers of all Company & Subsidiary funds.
- Create and maintain the company’s fixed (capital) asset inventory system, prepare journal entries, and updated fixed (capital) asset system in accordance with GAAP.
- Responsible for recording and integrity of all accounting transactions for the Company’s funds.
- Prepare regular and special financial and statistical statements and reports of a complex nature.
- Formulate and recommend accounting policies and make recommendations to improve existing accounting policies.
- Prepare, enter, close, and approve journal entries.
- Assist in forecasting revenues and expenditure; assist in budge development and in the preparation of of other financial documents and records.
- Ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial statements.
- Prepare numerous audit schedules .
- Managing the company’s financial transactions.
- Reconcile daily deposits for all locations.
- Reconcile Company’s Bank Accounts.
- Create and Manage Profit & Loss Statements for each location.
- Manage financial Balance Sheets.
- Develop plans for the company’s financial growth.
- Preparing the company’s financial reports.
- Management of Loan Details for inter-company and bank loans.
- Create and implement budgets for all companies and each location.
- Review and Manage Cashflow statements.
- Manager of Managing the company’s bookkeeper.
- Evaluating and managing financial risk.
- Responsible for preparing income statements.
- Review and develop written protocols for all financial workflows:
- Cash handling procedures
- End of day reconciliation procedures
- Cred card procedures
- Personal check management procedures
- Workflow with the Billing Team to develop account balance procedures
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSA’s):
This position requires the following knowledge, skills, and abilities upon application.
Knowledge:
- Business accounting, purchasing, finance, auditing and expenditure control system and procedures.
- Applicable laws, regulations, procedures and processes governing the receipt, custody, and expenditures of monies and municipality.
- Strong written and oral communications and relational skills.
- Public relations and customer service.
- Proficient in excel.
- Follow and relay complex oral and written instructions, policies and procedures.
- Basic Math skills for budget and other financial calculations.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related Field.
- CPA Certification preferred but not required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in professional accounting work in a computer-based system with supervisory experience.
- Requires sitting and standing associated with a normal office environment.
- Performs highly complex and varied tasks requiring independent knowledge and its application to a variety of situations, as well as exercising independent judgement.
- Requires the use of office equipment such as copiers, scanners, computers, telephones, and fax machines.
- May view computer screens for long periods of time.
- Must be able to prioritize activities when faced with competing demands.
