Job Details
- Lead the design process from programming and concept design through construction administration.
- Collaborate with firm Principals and specialized planners to develop programmatic relationships that inspire innovative, functional building configurations aligned with best practices in healthcare design.
- Design buildings that meet the client’s functional needs while reflecting their desired image, spatial requirements, and aesthetic vision.
- Support clients in understanding relevant design considerations and their impact on project outcomes.
- Refine building designs by evaluating them against applicable codes and addressing emerging issues.
- Define and articulate design principles to guide the project’s detailing phase; author or closely supervise critical details essential to the design concept.
- Lead the presentation of design concepts to clients and stakeholders.
- Organize, plan, and direct the efforts of a multi-disciplinary team, fostering collaboration with engineering disciplines (including civil and landscape) and interior designers to ensure consistent project development aligned with initial design concepts.
- Serve as the primary client liaison for both design and contractual matters.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
- Education: Bachelor of Architecture degree required.
- Certifications: EDAC and LEED AP certifications/accreditations are desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Communication: Strong presentation, verbal, written, and graphic communication skills.
- Collaboration: Ability to respond promptly to issues while fostering a collaborative and team-oriented environment.
Preferred Education and Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare design and planning.
- Local healthcare experience is a plus but not required.
- Proven ability to lead clinical user group meetings effectively.
- Familiarity with LEAN concepts is highly desirable.
- Architectural license
