POSITION SUMMARY: The Medical Office Assistant Care Guide is responsible for registering, collecting payments, rooming, assisting the provider with care and treatment, discharging, and following-up with patients. It is the role of the Care Guide to companion patients and their “secondary guests" through the entire experience to maximize clinical excellence, reduce treatment times, and maximize the patient experience; before, during, and after the patient visit.
The Care Guide is responsible for assisting the provider with front office and back office duties in the outpatient management of patients on a rotating basis. This role is responsible for a variety of clinical functions within a clinic setting requiring knowledge and integration of available standards, resources, and data; discretion; good judgment; diplomacy; decision making; and a customer service attitude. Acting as the patient advocate, the Care Guide has continuous contact with providers, patients, patient families/significant others, community agencies, and patient care staff and management. This position requires floating to various facilities.
Qualifications:REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: High School/GED
Licenses/Certifications: American Heart Association (BLS for Health Care Providers) to be completed within 2 weeks of hire date
Experience: 1 year experience in a patient care role. Basic computer skills with Microsoft Office and email Other skills/knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Experience: Previous experience with an electronic health record
Licenses/Certifications: American Heart Association (BLS for Health Care Providers)
Other requirements/information: May be required to float between clinics as needed.
Other skills or knowledge: Knowledge of urgent care medical specialty Knowledge of medical terminology Knowledge of Epic Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
