We are seeking a seasoned Medical Malpractice Trial Attorney to join our dynamic and growing legal team. The candidate will be responsible for handling all phases of medical malpractice litigation from inception through trial. Job Details
Responsibilities:
1. Manage a caseload of complex medical malpractice cases from inception through trial.
2. Draft pleadings, motions, and appellate documents and file them with the court.
3. Perform administrative duties (calendar hearings and deadlines, organize case files, manage logistics, etc).
4. Conduct extensive legal research and analysis on various medical malpractice issues.
5. Perform pretrial discovery, including depositions, and handle settlement negotiations.
6. Advocate for our clients in court by presenting evidence, arguing cases, and questioning witnesses.
7. Develop relationships with clients and work closely with them to understand their needs and objectives.
8. Collaborate with a team of attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants to ensure a successful trial outcome.
9. Keep up-to-date with the latest developments in health care law and medical malpractice law.
Qualifications:
1. Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
2. Admitted to the State Bar and in good standing.
3. Minimum of 3 years of experience as a trial attorney, preferably in medical malpractice.
4. Proven experience in medical malpractice law, health care law, and litigation.
5. Excellent litigation and courtroom skills, including experience with jury trials.
6. Strong legal research and writing skills.
7. Ability to manage a high-volume caseload and to work independently.
8. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on client service.
9. Proficiency in legal research software and Microsoft Office suite.
10. High ethical standards and professional integrity.
