Salary: $100,000 - $125,000 annually, commensurate with experience

Firm Overview:
Our well-established law firm in Raleigh, North Carolina is seeking a skilled Medical Malpractice Defense Attorney to join our growing team. We handle a wide range of medical malpractice defense cases for healthcare providers, hospitals, and insurance companies. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience in medical malpractice defense, although we will consider up to 8 years of experience for the right candidate.

Position Overview:
The Medical Malpractice Defense Attorney will represent healthcare professionals and institutions in complex malpractice cases. You will be responsible for managing a caseload, developing legal strategies, drafting legal documents, conducting research, and representing clients in court and settlement negotiations. Key Responsibilities:

• Represent healthcare providers and institutions in medical malpractice defense cases.
• Manage a caseload of cases from inception through trial and settlement.
• Develop case strategy, legal arguments, and defense theories.
• Draft and file pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents.
• Conduct depositions, hearings, and trials; represent clients in court proceedings.
• Collaborate with expert witnesses, medical professionals, and clients to strengthen case defenses.
• Maintain client relationships and communicate case progress effectively.

Qualifications:

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• 3-6 years of experience in medical malpractice defense (we will consider up to 8 years for the right candidate).
• Strong experience with medical malpractice litigation, including case management, depositions, and trial preparation.
• Preference for candidates with experience representing defendants (healthcare providers, hospitals, etc.) in malpractice cases.
• Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Ability to work independently while also thriving in a team-oriented environment.
• Active and in good standing with the North Carolina State Bar (or ability to waive in).
