Medical Laboratory Scientist-Inter
JOB SUMMARY
Under general supervision, responsible for independently applying clinical laboratory techniques in the performance of test procedures to provide data used in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
QUALIFICATIONS

Education
Bachelor s degree in related field required.
Visual Requirements
Color vision (ability to identify and distinguish colors)
Experience
Three (3) years of experience is required.
Additional Licenses and Certifications
Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist by the American Society of Clinical Pathologist or equivalent or eligibility to obtain certification within 2 years of hire date is required..
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1.Advanced technical skills in performing and analyzing various clinical laboratory tests and procedures.
2.Knowledge of general laboratory, safety and quality control, principles, techniques, and terminology and use of complex medical equipment.
3.Excellent internal/external customer service.
4.Ability to work in a Laboratory Information System.
5.Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
6.Excellent written and oral communication skills.
7.Able to follow written and verbal instructions.
8.Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records.
Job Duties
1.Performs standardized laboratory procedures and a variety of complex, analytical laboratory procedures within the area or section to which assigned; reviews test results for accuracy; completes reports.
2.Evaluates and implements new or revised laboratory procedures and techniques.
3.Reviews, interprets, and completes quality control procedures and technical troubleshooting.
4.Performs weekly preventative maintenance on laboratory instruments and equipment.
5.Accessions samples for in-house testing and referral laboratory testing.
6.Helps secure , and supplies for reseClienth studies and manages trial supply requests.
7.Secures , and supplies for clinical testing and reseClienth studies and manages supply requests.
8.Assists in the review and revision of laboratory policies and procedures and in the preparation for laboratory inspections by various regulatory/accrediting agencies.
9.Performs all other duties as assigned.
