Integrative Health is seeking aFront Desk Representative. The Front Office Representative provides support to the clinic and physician(s) in the areas of patient care by performing a wide variety of administrative duties. The Front Office Representative greets the patient and guides them through the check-in and check-out process. As the first impression for patients and visitors, they represent the clinic in a warm, welcoming, and professional manner. Successful candidates work well in a team environment and are empathetic to patient’s needs and concerns.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Others may be assigned.
- Greet and direct patients and other visitors in the office
- Maintain work area, waiting room, and patient flow
- Answer incoming phone calls
- Monitor and respond to front desk email messages
- Identifies special needs and takes appropriate steps to ensure patient appointments are scheduled according to set guidelines
- Check in patients to include updating and verifying insurance and demographic information in the EMR (Athena)
- Ensure all new and existing patient forms are properly completed and documented in the EMR (Athena)
- Check out patients to include collecting co-pays or deductibles and reviewing billed charges
- Verify insurance benefits and obtain any necessary prior authorizations to ensure coverage of services provided
- Verify end of day reports and balance cash drawer
QUALIFICATIONS

- Excellent customer service and communication skills.

- Ability to work independently and prioritize daily tasks.
- Experience with insurance verification
- Experience with basic desktop software, medical practice management, and electronic medical record systems
- Fluent in English
- Excel under pressure with attention to detail
- Knowledge of and adherence to HIPAA rules and regulations.
Education / Experience: Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience preferred to perform the job.
Required:
- At least 1 year of experience in a medical office
- High School Diploma or Equivalent

- Possess the ability to fulfill any office activities normally expected in an office setting, to include, but not limited to: remaining seated for periods of time to perform computer based work, participating in filing activity, lifting and carrying office supplies (paper reams, mail, etc.)
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20-25 pounds
- Fine hand manipulation (keyboarding)
