Medical Equipment Repair Technician CMC - (240009MS)
Description
- Repairs and maintains clinical equipment (patient beds and stretchers) to the manufacturer’s specifications.
- Performs scheduled and nonscheduled PM checks as needed.
- Documents work orders and PM checks.
- Orders parts and materials as needed.
- Assists clinical staff with equipment In Service or technical documents when required.
- Communicates in a clear and timely fashion to staff on status of repairs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Complies with all policies and standards.
- For specific duties and responsibilities, refer to documentation provided by the department during orientation.
- Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Equivalent / GED Required
- Strong Mechanical and Electronics back ground. Preferred
- Solid knowledge of Electronics and mechanical basic operation. Preferred
- Solid understanding of trouble shooting flows and diagnose failures. Preferred
- Ability to complete electrical safety and basic operation of electrical/electronic testing equipment. Preferred
- Basic troubleshooting knowledge. Preferred
- Knowledge or experience with Patient beds including critical care beds Preferred
- Technical certificate from an electrical and/or mechanical trade school Preferred
