Health Advocates Network is currently seeking a Medical and Clinical Laboratory Technicians to work at a facility in Orangeburg, New York. These are registry positions with our company. *$100 Sign-On Bonus*
Pay Rate: $28 / hour
*W2
The working hours for these positions is 08:30 am to 05:00 pm (ET), with NO overtime allowed.
Qualifications:
" Checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs.
" Investigated through a Criminal Background Check (CBC) which includes State and federal Criminal History Record Checks.
" Screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR).
" Checked against the Office of the Inspector General US Department of Health and Human Services (OIG)
" Check against the US General Service Administration, (SAM)
The job description is:
" Perform laboratory tests and procedures.
" Follow approved policies and procedures in performing specific methodologies and instrument operations and follows approved policies for proper recording and reporting of results.
" Perform and documents procedures required to ensure the quality of testing being performed. Responsibility includes quality control, instrument preventative maintenance, function checks and calibration.
" Follow approved guidelines when troubleshooting and carry out appropriate course of action when control values and/or instrument functions checks are invalid or inconsistent.
" Review patient results prior to release to the electronic medical record. Correlate final results with known facts concerning patient history/previous values and recognize the validity of results and identify/reject those results that are illogical.
" Communicate critical values and barriers to testing to medical staff according to protocol. Document according to laboratory policy.
" Complete assigned proficiency and competency assessments " Maintain sufficient testing supplies in work area, including ordering if directed by lead.
" Consistently generate and review pending logs
" Participates in the training of new medical technologists at the direction of seniors and lead technologists.
" Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid New York State license, issued by the New York State Education Department, Office of the Professions, as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist AND bachelor's degree in medical technology; OR Minimum of 90 semester hours or equivalent in an accredited college or university AND the successful completion of a course of training of at least 12 months in a school of medical technology approved by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association; OR Bachelor's degree in one of the chemical, physical, or biological sciences AND one year of training and/or experience in medical technology; OR Any combination of academic study and training and/or experience outlined in Section 58 of Title 10 of the New York State Public Health Law as referenced in the New York State Codes, Rules, and Regulations (NYCRR).
