Medical Billing Supervisor
Position Summary: The Medical Billing Team Leader engages team members, provides direction and accountability for billing specialists, trains billers, performs quality audits, and provides performance feedback.
Job Duties
- Understand and support all aspects of job descriptions within the department
- Professionally represent client as client billing office
- Reinforce and ensure department goals and activity metrics are met
- Analyze data to assess quality/productivity and identify trends
- Meet regularly with each team member to review progress and/or address concerns
- Guide team members toward solutions
- Encourage and support team member development
- Acknowledge team member success and recognize improvement
- Redirect team members when performance does not align with company goals
- Provide regular feedback to department manager regarding team performance, obstacles, achievements, struggles, etc.
- Train new team members, as well as existing team members when applicable
- Seek counsel from department manager when necessary
- Support department manager and company vision
- Apply company policies consistently to all team members
- Comply with state/federal regulations and adhere to HIPAA and PHI guidelines
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- 3-5 years medical billing or applicable experience
- Complete knowledge of Front-End Billing process
- Knowledge of various hospital Interfaces/hospital systems
- Knowledge of identifying issues with electronic files
- Communication with internal and external IT Help Desk
- Knowledge of hospital crossovers data
- MedFM software experience is a plus
- Aptitude for leadership
- Demonstrated history of on-going professional and personal development
- Strong attention to detail, goal oriented

- Prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities
- Experience with medical billing software
Expectations
Monitor and communicate all incoming interfaces issues and resolve
Coach and Train employees on working the Front End Process
Assist in resolving all unbilled/unknown charges
Learn Baylor, MPC, and UT billing rules and guidelines
Responsible for generating Client bills, research patients, missing accessions
Ensure KPI Goals are met
Be a backup for all areas in Front End
Mange Employee Time
Provide feedback to team
Support management
