Medical Billing Specialist - Tandym

A nonprofit health services organization in Florida is currently seeking a new Medical Billing Specialist to join one of their medical clinics in Orlando. In this role, the Medical Billing Specialist will be responsible for primarily responsible for managing the submission of medical claims to insurance companies for reimbursement.

***To be qualified for this position, candidates must be local to Orlando or at least able to commute into the office 5 days a week.***

About the Opportunity:

• Schedule: Monday to Friday
• Hours: 8am to 5pm

Responsibilities:

• Generate and submit medical claims to insurance companies, government agencies, and other third-party payers for reimbursement
• Verify patient insurance coverage and eligibility to ensure accurate billing information is obtained and recorded
• Review and correct claim rejections, denials, and unpaid claims promptly to expedite reimbursement
• Follow up on outstanding accounts receivable to facilitate timely payment and resolution of billing issues
• Maintain accurate patient records and billing information in compliance with HIPAA regulations
• Coordinate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to obtain necessary documentation for billing purposes
• Assist with credentialing processes for healthcare providers, ensuring compliance with payer requirements
• Perform other duties, as needed

Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in Medical Billing with a focus on submitting claims to insurance companies for reimbursement
• High School Diploma / GED
• Proficiency in Medical Billing software and Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
• Strong knowledge of medical coding systems (e.g., CPT, ICD-10) and insurance billing procedures
• Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and compliance requirements
• Solid problem-solving and time management
• Great interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong attention to detail
• Highly organized

Desired Skills:

• Associate's and Bachelor's Degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, and/or a related field
