Job Summary:
We are looking for a dedicated Medical Billing Specialist to join our company to support our clinic and field team. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will be working in a fast-paced and growing Physician's Group where you will be relied on for your expertise, professionalism, and teamwork. This position is NOT a remote position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Patient Demographics: including verification of insurance coverage and changes in patient information with appropriate documentation.
- Charge Entry/Review Diagnosis Codes and Procedure Codes
- Facilitate all activity with regards to electronic claims: analyze rejected and outstanding claims, troubleshoot errors and rejection codes.
- Review, process and mail paper claims.
- Review Explanation of Benefits and follows up on all denied claims.
- Maintain compassion with patients, while following compliance and privacy guidelines. Including Identifying and resolves patient billing complaints, claim issues, appeals in a timely manner.
- Post payments and make correct adjustments when necessary.
- Works with the staff in the planning, implementation and evaluation of modifications to existing operations, systems, and procedures, especially those related to reimbursement maximization and accounts receivable.
- Monitors accounts receivable. Responds as needed about accounts receivable.
- Performs other related duties as required. This position is subject to change at the discretion of management and additional duties may be applied. While meeting positional metrics and benchmarks.

Qualifications:
- Understands the importance of maintaining confidentiality according to HIPPA standards.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology, CPT and ICD-10 codes
- Good working knowledge of computerized data management systems, billing principles, or the ability to quickly develop in proficiency to meet the demands of the position.
- Must have basic computer skills, including Word and Excel.
- Must have the ability to multi-task, prioritize and organize. Also be highly flexible and able to accommodate changing needs to the department
- Must pay attention to detail while remaining focused in a busy environment.
Education And/or Experience:
- Associates Degree or equivalent applicable experience preferred.
- Previous experience in similar capacity preferred; including at least two years of billing experience.
- Understands the fundamentals of Coding.
While this position can evolve in to a remote position, several weeks of training will need to take place on site. If hired, attendance to our central Florida office will be required.
