Medical Billing Specialist - Administrative Assistant at Confidential company

We are seeking a Part-Time Administrative Assistant/Medical Billing Specialist to join our administrative team.

 Our busy dermatology practice needs a reliable, positive, upbeat and well organized office manager assistant to handle mostly billing but also assist the office manager with the day to day operations with a focus on efficiency and time management.

DUTIES:

• Answer all patient or insurance telephone inquiries
• Cover front desk receptionist responsibilities as needed
• Answer phone calls and emails as needed.
• Assist administrative staff with various administrative projects as needed.
• Assist with MIPS data and submission
• Accurate data entry
• Assist with monthly staff scheduling for front desk and medical assistants
• Find coverage when staff calls off
• Assist Managers with other duties as assigned
• Follow up with insurance carriers regarding appeals
• Obtaining prior authorization from insurance carriers – online and by phone
• A successful assistant administrative assistant should have experience with a variety of office software (email tools, spreadsheets and databases) and be able to accurately handle administrative
• Knowledge of office administrator responsibilities, systems and procedures
• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
• Attention to detail and problem solving skills

Experience:

• Administrators: with 2 year minimum experience preferred
• Previous experience working in a medical office and dealing with insurance claims and billing would be an advantage
• Billing Specialist with 4 year minimum experience preferred
