As a Billing Associate at MHA, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring smooth operations and optimal revenue management for our practice. You'll be supported by a collaborative team, have opportunities for ongoing professional development, and contribute to making a difference in patient care.
What You’ll Do:
- Claims Processing
- Ensure accurate medical claims submissions to insurance companies by verifying patient info, insurance coverage, and eligibility. Identify and resolve discrepancies to streamline payments.
- Payment Posting
- Post and reconcile payments received from various sources, and resolve issues with denied or rejected claims.
- Rejection & Denial Management
- Investigate claim rejections, collaborate with teams and insurance companies to resolve issues, and develop strategies to minimize future rejections.
- Medical Billing Reports
- Prepare detailed billing reports for management, highlighting key performance metrics and areas for improvement.
- Collaboration & Compliance
- Work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and technical support to resolve issues, while maintaining compliance with HIPAA and other regulations.
What You Bring:
- Experience
- Preferred experience in outpatient medical billing with experience in MEDENT software. Managed care and capitation insurance product experience is a plus.
- Skills
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and proven teamwork experience. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
- Education
- High school diploma required. An associate’s degree or medical billing certification is preferred.

Physical Requirements: This role involves up to six hours of continuous sitting, standing, and walking in a medical office, as well as repetitive keyboarding tasks. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
